Assignment 1 is a PowerPoint presentation of a Technology chapter
content.
Work on a team of 2-3 students (to be assigned by the
instructor based on your interests) to give a presentation to
the class on a specific topic from one of chapters in the book.
Your presentation will include:
- a PowerPoint presentation with at least five
slides (and not more than 12) to be used as a part of the presentation.
Internet sources or other content outside the book should be included
in the presentation
Due:
Turn in: (by each team member) 1
printed copy of the PowerPoint presentation (6 slides to a page),
plus one electronic copy on floppy disk. Prepare a group presentation
to share with other classmates. Each team
member should have an electronic copy (backup) of the powerpoint
presentation to
keep for linking later on your web page. Each team member should
present one or more slides during the presentation.

Finding Thematic Resources
Find 5 resources on the topic (within grade level, curricular area)
you have potentially selected for your unit of instruction.
Find at least one software resource, at least one Internet project, and
at
least one web site.
The additional two resources may be any of those three types of resources.
Write down the information (location or publisher etc. + description) in a word processing document that would allow a teacher to find and obtain the resource if she/he were reading your description. Put in one or two sentences of decription so that an educator can judge whether or not the resource seems relevant to their interests.
Due:
Turn in: A one-page word
processed document containing the summaries for the 5 resources, plus
the following attachments: any relevant material to aid locating the
software, and printouts of the
first page of the websites. Turn in a description of this assignment as
a cover page for the items submitted as well. Be certain to keep an
electronic copy of the assignment for backup and later posting on your
web site. You do not need to submit an electronic version of this
document.

Student sample (what you would expect your K-12 students to produce)
of a newsletter or brochure
(see TTF Module 4 for more details or tutorial). This assignment should
meet the following criteria:
Newsletter should be age appropriate
for the grade you are targeting (use 2 or 3 column format)
Brochure of 4-6 panels (on 8.5x11 sized
paper)
Content should be in the theme of your
unit plan
Must be produced in MS-Publisher
Alter one of the sample rubrics or
checklists to use for evaluation of your student's work
Text must be paraphrased and all sources cited properly.
Due:
Turn in: a print-out of your newsletter or brochure and the
evaluation rubric or checklist. Retain an electronic/backup copy of
this assignment for later posting on your web site.

Turn in: a print-out of the
home page plus the first page of each link on your website. You must
post the webpage and associated files on your own website and provide
the exact url you want to have linked from our class web page. All
relevant files must be in a folder named by first initial,
last name (e.g., gknezek)
or first name, last name initial if your name is longer than 8
characters (rhondac). The entire contents
of this folder should be ftped
to your
website so be certain all files that are linked from your page and all
links exist within the folder. We will have instructions on how
to place materials on your web site in class, but you are ultimately
responsible to complete this aspect, using assistance from the general
access lab or the UNT help desk (x2324) as needed.

Assignment 6 features the updated and completed Plan of Instruction, based on the template provided in your Intel CD and linked from the web page for our class. Supporting materials include examples you produce of your powerpoint interest (A1), educator resources (A2) student samples of work (A3), copies of your assessment rubrics, a printed copy of your website (A4, primary pages only), and your works cited page should be attached as well. This is for your proposed unit of instruction on the topic chosen earlier in the semester. All should be bound in a small 3-ring notebook or equivalent.

Be prepared to present a "show and tell" of your Portfolio to the
class. You will actively participate in the assessment of your peers'
portfolios and presentations.
